Dark Healer Chapter 11

Chapter 11: Meanwhile, Aston Party (II)

A train was speeding across green plain.

A Carriage pulled by three golden haired horses had a magnificent design and a beautiful appearance.

"I feel great."

It was Aston who lazily stretched his legs inside carriage, sipping a glass of wine.

Gyle, Witch, said as he looked out window at blue mountains.

"But not quest, right."

"That's how we deserve to be treated."

After all, this time the request came directly from Lord Fennel, one of seven great noble families.

Equipment and everything else was lavishly funded, and a luxury train was provided to take them to cave in the northern snowfield where Fire Fox had to be defeated.

It took more than ten days to get there from royal capital, but party was enjoying a sparkling trip, with high-end inns booked in each inn town.

"It just feels like nobles."

"In fact, we'll be nobles when we retire."

Aston responded to Yuma's words with a sip from his glass.

Adventurer Party are ranked according to their achievements.

Aston's party, which had defeated a number of class A monsters, was Gold Class.

They are known by name of their party, Phoenix of Steel, for their ability to defeat even strongest opponents with little or no damage.

"If I go on like this, I'll be able to reach top Black."

Black Class, one might say, are people of national merit, and after retiring, they can gain qualifications to become nobles.

In fact, there were many former adventurers from Black Class who became nobles after retiring, including director of Royal Academy of Healing and other key figures in national center.

In order to finally join nobles, you need to have some recommendations, but if you are on good terms with a noble likes Lord Fennel, you should be able to resolve condition without difficulty.

"We've come a long way."

"We have to walk all the way to dungeon."

"Well, it's not that hard to travel if you have a baggage handler."

Everyone burst out laughing.

“I couldn't believe my eyes when I heard that Aston would let a poor kid join our party. I couldn't believe my ears when I heard that he would allow a child from favela to join our party, but he can eat leftovers, staying in open space, cook, carry luggage, and even substitute you if there are monsters if necessary. In short, it's like getting a slave with no money at all."

"Kuhu, hahaha. Zenos is a good stone to throw away. He clearly has a good dream."

From bottom of their stomachs, they couldn't stop laughing.

They wonder how Zenos is.

They gave him some money to shut up so he wouldn't tell anyone he was in party, but that probably wasn't necessary. He's a poor man. There weren't any real jobs for someone like him, and they wouldn't be taken seriously by anyone. He was probably dying by side of  road right now, grateful he had been picked up by them.

Just then, carriage suddenly stopped.

"Hey, what's wrong? You spilled wine on my armor."

"I'm sorry sir. A Wild Demon Beast has appeared. Can you guys help me get rid of it?"

"Shit. I just had a nice drink."

Aston drew his sword, Yuma drew her bow, Andres held his wand, and Gyle grabbed amulet.

The battle started.

Aston catches the punch of the Horned Rabbit dancing towards him.

"Guh... This..."

An impact heavier than imagined felt on his body.

He tried to push back and slash through it, but the enemy was faster than he thought. In the end, it took about half an hour for the five of them to kill.

His bodies feel heavy. He obviously drunk too much.

"Goddamn you, you're a pain in the ass."

Just as he was about to get back to the train, cursing, Yuma called him from behind.

"Hey, Aston. Your arm is injured."

"Ha?"

Indeed, there was blood stained around his elbow.

"Shit, I let my guard down."

As he clicked his tongue, he suddenly thought.

Come to think of it, when was the last time he was injured in battle?

He felt something move on the back of his chest.

It was a small, uncomfortable feeling, like a thorn.

But at that time, Aston didn't know what it was.
